Defense Ministry silent about bullets found in injured soldier's body
November 27, 2010 | 12:28
Investigative service at the Armenian Defense Ministry neither refutes
nor confirms the reports by Zhamanak daily saying a bullet from
another weapon was found in the body of Manvel Hazroyan injured in the
November 19 incident. `We do not comment on this information,' Meri
Sargsyan, spokesperson for investigative service at the Armenian
Defense Ministry, told NEWS.am. She also did not disclose details of
the preliminary investigation, noting that investigation is underway.
Today the Zhamank newspaper wrote that Armenian Defense Ministry did
its utmost to reshuffle off the responsibility upon soldier Manvel
Hazroyan, who allegedly had fired at the soldiers and then failed a
suicide attempt. According to the newspaper's sources, a
re-examination of the soldier's body revealed a bullet from another
weapon, besides his own. It proves others also fired at Hazroyan.
Manvel Hazroyan, injured in the recent armed incident in the Armenian
army, claiming lives of 4 servicemen and wounding 4 others, was
charged under Article 104, part 2 (assassination of one or more
persons), 34- 104 part 2, paragraph 1 (assassination attempt of one or
more persons), Article 365, part 1 (violation of military service
rules).
According to the Armenian Defense Ministry he pleaded guilty.
Presently he undergoes treatment in military hospital of Stepanakert.
