FIRST PAN-ARMENIAN TWO-DAY FORUM OF FINANCERS AND BANKERS LAUNCHES IN YEREVAN

YEREVAN, OCTOBER 18, ARMENPRESS: The first pan-Armenian two-day forum
of financers and bankers launched today in Yerevan organized by the
Diaspora Ministry, RA Central Bank, Union of Armenian Banks. About
45 representatives from Ukraine, Russia, French, Great Britain,
Spain, the USA, Lebanon and United Arab Emirates arrived in Armenia
to participate in the event.
Armenian Diaspora Minister Hranush Hakobyan presented the message
of the Armenian president who welcomed the participants and wished
success in the work expressing hope that serious and interesting
discussions will be held.
Hranush Hakobyan said that the goal of the gathering is to unite the
potential of world Armenian financers and bankers, work out mechanisms
for increasing the efficiency of Armenia-Diaspora cooperation.
"This forum must become the beginning of implementation of big deals.
This is the 9th specialized forum. I think that such events promote
the uniting of specialists from Armenia and Diaspora, more strengthen
their ties," Hranush Hakobyan said.
According to the minister, for combating the existing challenges the
strengthening of Armenia is very important.
"I must say that Armenia's banking system is one of the best
achievements of independent Armenia. During the conference the
bankers and financers may share with their experience with the local
specialists," Hranush Hakobyan said, rating high their assistance in
the implementation of investments and foreign programs.
Chairman of the Armenian Central bank Arthur Javadyan noted that this
forum is an important event in the financial life of Armenia.
"Today we must try to lay the basis for creation of All-Armenian
network. The participants must better understand the situation in
Armenia and imagine what participation they may have in the further
development of Armenia's financial system. We had such an experience,
thanks to our Diaspora partners today "HSBC", "Rosgosstrakh", "Unibank"
and others are functioning in Armenia. After this forum the number
of such organizations must increase," Arthur Javadyan said.
During the forum reports on "Issues of Financial Education in Armenia",
"Professional Potential of Diaspora in the process of governance of
RA financial institutions", etc. will be presented.
