In 2011, Armenian economy will enter into development stage to reach
2008's economic performance, according to Armenian Finance Minister
Tigran Davtyan.
"2011 budget-envisaged social expenditures are unprecedented,
stipulating for 15%, 10% and 15 % increase of social benefits,
pensions and cultural workers' salaries respectively," the Minister
stated at parliamentary session on 2011 Armenian state budget.
"The government has already advanced a legal initiative to strengthen
the leverage of the State Commission for the Protection of Economic
Competition. World-known brands and companies will be attracted to
promote competitiveness of Armenian economy," the Minister stressed.
ARF Dashnaktsutyun parliamentary group member Artsvik Minasyan,
however, accused the Minister of engaging in populism instead of
replying specific questions. As he noted, the Armenian President
presented perspectives of economic development, however the
governmental policy will be unable to secure them.
