YEREVAN, OCTOBER 20, ARMENPRESS: The attempts of "creation" of history
in Azerbaijan has no relation with scientific character, Hayk Demoyan,
director of the Armenian Genocide Museum-Institute, said today at a
news conference in Armenpress press center, adding that falsification
of history is the state policy of Azerbaijan. According to him,
Azerbaijanis sponsor certain "sorry scholars" who are trying to build
history from non-existing facts: they are Kvatkevich, Pompeyev who
are working in Moscow.
Hayk Demoyan presented few examples of falsification of history,
particularly the Azerbaijanis are trying to present the work of
well-known Armenian cross-stone maker of late 13th century Poghos
as a manifestation of their own culture, forgetting to erase the
dedication-declaration in Armenian in the bottom of the cross-stone.
"Basic sciences have no alternative," Demoyan said, adding that the
policy of "creation" of history will do no good to Azerbaijan.
He said five years ago in front of the whole world the Azerbaijanis
eliminated the Armenian cemetery of Old Jugha and certain
representatives of the UNESCO leadership during the recent five years
at least four times visited Azerbaijan.
