State Revenue Committee of the Republic of Armenia released on Thursday
the list of largest tax payers for the 2010 January-September.
The largest taxpayer during this period - much in the same way as it
was in the first half in 2010 - is ArmRosGazProm Company with around
13 billion drams in tax payments.
Against the backdrop of the first 9 months in 2009 the company has
this year paid 21 per cent more in taxes.
Alex Grig, a private company with limited liabilities and owned by
MP Samvel Alexanyan, has been ranked as the second-largest taxpayer
with 12.6 billion in payments which is 17 per cent more compared to
last year's indicators.
The 3rd and the 4th places have been occupied by local mobile phone
operators K-Telecom and ArmenTel. The two companies have respectively
paid 12.2 billion dram and 11.1 billion dram in taxes.
By and large, the top ten of taxpayers has remained the same with
the exception of Zangezur Copper Molybdenum Combine that has improved
its positions to the fifth place.
The company has had 316 per cent increase (more than four times) in
tax payments during the period under discussion due to an in increase
in copper prices in the global market.
Last year copper prices fluctuated between $3000-4000 USD per ton,
while this year the prices have surged to $8,000.
