GLENDALE SYMPHONY STARTS 2010/2011 SEASON WITH A BANG

GLENDALE
The Glendale Symphony Orchestra will kickoff the 2010-2011 season with
a fundraising event on Saturday, September 11 from 4 to 7 p.m., the to
honor world-renowned conductor/ composer Maestro Loris Tjeknavorian,
is one of the most highly regarded conductors and composers in the
world today and will be joining the Glendale Symphony as a guest
conductor for a concert later this fall.
The Maestro has conducted many of the world's finest orchestras
including the London Symphony, the Vienna Philharmonic, and the
American Symphony Orchestra (New York) to name a few. For eleven
years, he was the music director of the Armenian Philharmonic and
brought that orchestra to international prominence.
This spectacular event featuring music by Bach, Mozart and Tjeknavorian
is being hosted by Lexus of Glendale at 1221 S. Brand Blvd.,
Glendale. The showroom will be transformed into an intimate concert
hall with champagne, wine and a sumptuous catered cocktail reception.
The Glendale Symphony Orchestra will be gifting a CD of the Maestro's
music to all who attend. Following the concert the guest of honor,
Maestro Tjeknavorian will be greeting patrons and signing CDs.

The Glendale Symphony is additionally proud to announce the
appointment of Maestro Jeffrey Bernstein as its full time associate
conductor. Maestro Bernstein, who is also the full time artistic
director of the Pasadena Master Chorale, will be conducting the
Glendale Symphony chamber ensemble for the September 11th grand event.
Continuing its commitment to youth music programs, the Glendale
Symphony Orchestra has invited members of the Glendale High School
Advanced Music Program to perform throughout the cocktail reception
period.

a full season of events and concerts for 2010/2011 and we're very
