The agreements reached during RF President Dmitry Medvedev's recent
visit to Yerevan do not change anything in the status quo and balance
of forces in the region, RF Ambassador to Azerbaijan Vladimir Dorokhin
stated in an interview with the Public TV of Azerbaijan.
The agreements reached in Yerevan gave rise to many questions in Baku.
There have been speculations on Russia's "foreign policy games"
in the region.
Speaking of the Russian leader's official visit to Azerbaijan scheduled
for September 2-3, Ambassador Dorokhin pointed out that the sides
will discuss a wide range of issues related to the bilateral strategic
partnership.
"Russia and Azerbaijan are having a close political dialogue.
Cooperation in the oil and other economic sectors is successfully
developing. Humanitarian cooperation is particularly wealthy, which is
accounted for by respect for the Russian language in Azerbaijan. The
sides will thoroughly discuss both bilateral cooperation and regional
security issues," Ambassador Dorokhin said.
