DUTCH SENATE LEADER PRAISES AZERBAIJAN'S KARABAKH POSITION

Rene van der Linden The president of the Dutch Senate, Rene van der
Linden, has arrived in Baku.
"This is my third visit to Azerbaijan. We will have discussions on
political and economic issues during this trip," van der Linden told
journalists today.
He touched on the resolution of the Armenian-Azerbaijani conflict
over Nagorno-Karabakh.
"The Azerbaijani president is showing a constructive position on
resolution of this problem," van der Linden said.
"As regards my country's position on the resolution of the
Nagorno-Karabakh problem, we consider that the OSCE Minsk Group should
put forward a proposal on resolution of the conflict. The resolution
of a number of problems in the region will remain complicated until
this issue is solved peacefully."
Rene van der Linden said the role of parliamentary diplomacy had
increased recently with parliamentarians holding various meetings.
