ARMENIA TO INTENSIFY COLLABORATION WITH LEBANON

Armenian Ambassador to Lebanon Ashot Kocharyan had a number of meetings
with high ranking Lebanon officials.
During the meeting with Lebanon parliamentary speaker Nabih Berri,
intensification of interparliamentary cooperation, as well as regional
issues were covered.
In a conversation with Lebanon Foreign Minister Ali Shami the
Ambassador emphasized the importance of cooperation in international
organizations, briefing the Minister on recent developments in Karabakh
conflict settlement issue.
Possible cooperation between Yerevan and Beirut was discussed with
Beirut Mayor Bilal Hamad. Kocharyan passed the invitation of Yerevan
Mayor Gagik Beglaryan to visit Armenia to participate in October
10 celebrations.
At the meeting with Beirut and Mount Lebanon Chamber of Commerce
official, the necessity to intensify bilateral business cooperation
through creation of Armenia-Lebanon business council was emphasized,
