IV YEREVAN INTERNATIONAL FESTIVAL OF CLASSICAL MUSIC TO BE HELD FROM SEPTEMBER 11 TILL OCTOBER 22

ArmInfo. The IV Yerevan International Festival of Classical Music
will be held from September 11 till October 22.
The chief conductor and art director of the State Philharmonic
Orchestra of Armenia, Eduard Topchyan, said at today's press conference
that such well-known musicians as Julia Fischer, Isabelle Faust,
Anton Sorokov, Svyatoslav Moroz and others will take part in the
festival. A total of 22 musicians from 12 countries will participate
in the festival in Yerevan.
The French pianist Francois-Frederic Guy will open the festival on
September 11 with Brahms' Piano Concerto No2 and Schostakovich's
Symphony No 10. It is noteworthy that on September 11 the Armenian
audience will have an opportunity to assess the sound of the new
Steinway& Sons grand piano purchased with the support of Armenian
President Serzh Sargsyan, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan, and Culture
Minister Hasmik Poghosyan. Topchyan said that within the frames of
the festival master classes will be held for young musicians.
