Georgia cuts Armenia's Internet
Georgia has deprived Armenia of its Internet access. The incident was
caused by damage to a fiber optic cable on territory controlled by
Tbilisi. As a result, some Internet users in Armenia have been left
without the possibility of accessing the World Wide Web.
`The problems were recorded in the late afternoon on Saturday. In
particular, the rate of data transmission was significantly decreased
and IP telephony did not work," a representative of the
telecommunications company Orange-Armenia told Interfax.
The level of Internet services for the republic's population will be
unstable until the problem is corrected on the territory of Georgia.
