Head of Armenian Centre for National and International Studies Richard
Giragosian too has got an invitation from the Turkish Prime Minister
Recep Tayyip Erdogan for visiting Turkey on September 17-22, being
in Van and participating in the liturgy in Surb Khach (Holy Cross)
church in Akhtamar. R. Kirakosyan told Panorama.am that he has rejected
the invitation and is not going to go there.
It should be noted that today a number of Armenian politicians,
analysts, NGO representatives and journalists have received an
invitation on behalf of the Turkish Prime Minister to visit Turkey
on September 17-22.
Analyst R. Kirakosyan assessed this step of Turkish Prime Minister as a
"Continuation of the Turkish game in desperation."
"This frivolous step of Turkey is rather like a performance. They were
waiting for the referendum, they were to come up with the suggestion
on time." he said.
It is clear for the expert that Turkey will normalize relations with
Armenia only after the parliamentary elections in 2011. And all this,
according to him, is only a game by Turkey.
