Georgian president Saakashvili visits Baku

Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili is expected to meet with
Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev in Baku as he pays an official
visit to Azerbaijan today, according to the Georgian President's press
service.
He will on September 14 attend an energy summit in Baku, which will
focus on cooperation between Georgia, Azerbaijan and Romania over the
transportation of liquefied gas.
"On September 13 the Azerbaijani and Georgian presidents will hold a
meeting. Baku will host an energy summit on September 14, which will
be attended by the presidents of Georgia, Azerbaijan and Romania,"
Georgian President's spokesperson Natia Bandzeladze told Azerbaijani
news agency Trend.
Energy ministers of the three countries will also meet on today.
The Memorandum AGRI (Azerbaijan-Georgia-Romania Interconnector) was
concluded on 13 April 2010 in Bucharest. The project envisages
construction of a terminal for gas liquefaction in Georgia and a
re-gasification terminal in Romania.
