HHK HAS NOT TAKEN ANY STEP TO WEAKEN BHK: SHARMAZANOV

23.09.10
As the most influential political power that enjoys a majority,
the Republican Party of Armenia (HHK) has taken no step aimed at
weakening the positions of Prosperous Armenia Party (BHK), HHK
Spokesperson Eduard Sharmazanov told Tert.am, referring to reaction
that a statement made by HHK Deputy Chairperson Razmik Zohrabyan
earlier yesterday has sparked.
"Such a rapid response from my colleagues in BHK was strange for me.
One more time Razmik Zohrabyan has certified that there are no
disagreements in the coalition, and as the most influential party
that has a majority, the HHK has no aim or intention - and has never
had any - to take any step that would weaken the coalition partner,"
explained Mr Sharmazanov.
Earlier Razmik Zohrabyan had said that HHK would have weakened the BHK,
had it wanted to do so.
"Had we really attempted to take steps to weaken BHK's positions,
BHK would have really been weakened. [BHK] is our coalition partner,
and we do not do such things. There are always trivial talks in every
coalition. Imagine what is happening in the HAK [Armenian National
Congress], there are disagreements all through the day," he had said.
