Armenia got into bondage of Madrid Principles, NKR former minister says
April 02, 2011 | 00:28
It is obvious that Nagorno-Karabakh Republic has political, economic
and moral dependence on Armenia, NKR former Foreign Minister Arman
Melikyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.
Commenting on the reduced role of Nagorno-Karabakh in terms of
expressing its stance in the negotiation process within the recent
years, Melikyan said that it is natural, because Madrid principles
were not accepted by Armenia several years ago.
`They did not exist and Karabakh had more opportunities to speak out.
Armenia accepted the Madrid principles and got into a bondage. The
only thing that Stepanakert says from time to time is that it has no
relation to the adoption and discussion of principles. That's all,'
Melikyan noted.
According to the former minister, Karabakh people and government may
oppose the actions of Armenia only in a very extreme situation: `In
fact, today Karabakh's political will is not displayed in everyday
life,' he said.
