ECHR MAY TAKE DECISION ON ARMENIAN KHACHKARS DEMOLITION BY AZERBAIJAN THIS YEAR

The European Court of Humans Rights (ECHR) can this year take
a decision on the case on demolition of Armenian khachkars in Old
Jugha, Nakhijevan.
The suit was filed by the National Council of the Armenians of
Western Armenia. "Our legal action was accepted. We think that the
ECHR can address us to clarify some questions. It's a long process
but we expect a decision during the current year," the organization's
chairman Armenak Abrahamyan told a PanARMENIAN.Net reporter.
27 thousand of Armenian monuments, churches, chapels artifacts and
grave stones were destructed in Nakhijevan by Azerbaijan, as part
of the government's policy to erase the trace of Armenian culture at
the site.of
