    TOP STORY April 21, 2011

    _Christ is Risen! _

This Sunday, the worldwide Armenian Church will celebrate the Feast of the
Glorious Resurrection of Our Lord Jesus Christ-the most important day of the
year in our church calendar. This year, for the first time ever, Easter
falls on the same day Armenians traditionally observe the anniversary of the
    1915 Armenian Genocide.

On Easter Sunday, April 24, Archbishop Khajag Barsamian, Primate of the
Diocese of the Armenian Church of America (Eastern), will celebrate the
Divine Liturgy at St. Vartan Armenian Cathedral, and reflect on the
significance of both occasions in his homily. The Divine Liturgy will begin
    at 10:30 a.m.

Aso Tavitian will serve as the godfather of the release of doves ceremony on
the cathedral plaza following services. The AGBU Antranig Dance Ensemble
will perform traditional Armenian dances on the plaza.
