ARMENIANS ON PILGRIMAGE TO MARUTA MOUNTAIN IN TURKEY

A group of Armenians went on a traditional pilgrimage to a chapel
at the top of Maruta Mountain presently located in the territory
of Turkey.
Armenians, natives of Sasun whose grandfathers survived Genocide,
local residents and a group of Turkish mountain climbers joined the
pilgrimage, Batman Postasi website reports. MP from Turkey's ruling
Justice and Development party Civer Ozdemir also participated.
The pilgrims lit candles and prayed in the chapel.
Maruta, also called Maratuk is located in the Sason district of Turkey
(Western Armenia).
