An article by Swiss journalist Andre Vidmerin on realities of Nagorno
Karabakh was published in German "Die Welt" and "Frankfurter Rundschau"
magazines.
"The Nagorno Karabakh as an integral part of Azerbaijan was occupied
by Armenian armed forces in 1991. Over one million Azerbaijanis were
expatriated from their lands. The historical, religious monuments
and cultural objects were destroyed in the occupied territories.
Thousands of Azerbaijanis were taken hostage. Currently, the military
regime, which rules in the occupied territories, is famous for its
murderments and ethnic cleansing. The government of Armenia does not
recognize this regime as an independent state", the journalist writes.
"The UN and other international organizations recognize Nagorno
Karabakh as a territory of Azerbaijan. The independent states,
including the countries of Europe also support territorial integrity
of Azerbaijan", he underlines.
Mr. Vidmer also writes that Armenians started putting pressure on
him as well.
