TBILISI. - Georgian director Robert Sturua "does not want the President
of Georgia be a representative of other nation."
During his recital evening the director said that he would like to
see his country headed by a Georgian, rather than Armenian, while,
according to him, the President Mikheil Saakashvili is Armenian,
reports Vzglyad newspaper.
At the same time artistic director of the Tbilisi Shota Rustaveli
Theatre added that he is fond of the Armenians and has close Armenian
relatives, however, a number of pro-government representatives accused
him of xenophobia.
Speaking about the Georgian authorities, the director said that the
country is "in the hands of half-morons".
According to him, Georgia has forgotten about the rules of diplomacy
in its relations with Russia.
"Diplomacy is trickery, but we forgot that in our relations with
Russia. We are like a lap-dog barking at the elephant," said Sturua.
The director said that he does not understand why Saakashvili took
current position against Russia.
