MEDVEDEV HOPES FOR "SINCERE TALK" ON KARABAKH WITH AZERBAIJANI PRESIDENT

SOCHI. - Russian President Dmitry Medvedev and his Azerbaijani
counterpart Ilham Aliyev are holding a meeting in Sochi. The
two leaders are discussing expansion of bilateral relations,
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, as well as international issues and world
economic problems, RIA Novosti reports.
"Certainly, one of the focal points at the talks is Karabakh conflict
resolution. I would like to hold a "sincere" conversation on further
developments in the peace process following the presidents' meeting
in Kazan and previous meetings," Medvedev said at the meeting.
In his turn Aliyev thanked Medvedev for his invitation to visit
Russia. He emphasized that the bilateral cooperation is developing
dynamically in all directions, including the economic and humanitarian
spheres and energy security. Azerbaijani president also thanked
Medvedev for his efforts to resolve the Karabakh dispute.
"The talks considerably brought the sides' positions closer.
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is the main problem of regional security.
Azerbaijan is more interested in the conflict settlement, than any
other country," he noted.
