AZERBAIJAN TO MAKE DOCUMENTARY ON KARS TREATY

The Azerbaijani Ministry of Culture and Tourism's Salname studio has
started production of a documentary film entitled "The Autumn of 1921".
The film marks the 90th anniversary of the signing of the Treaty of
Kars, AzerTAj news agency reported.
The treaty, signed by the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, led by
Ataturk, and the government of Bolshevik Russia, led by Lenin, created
Turkey's current borders with Georgia, Armenia and Azerbaijan. Kars
and the surrounding area became part of Turkey, while Batumi became
part of Soviet Georgia.
The documentary will be shot on location in Nakhchivan, Kars, Erzurum,
Ankara and Istanbul.
Relevant material from the Russian and Turkish film and photo archives
will be used.
The director of "The Autumn of 1921" is Tahir Aliyev, the screen
writer Ilham Tumas and adviser Hajeli Najafoglu.
