'The key motif of Russian President Dmitriy Medvedev is probably
related to the next year's presidential elections in Russia'.
The statement came from Azer Babayev, research fellow at Peace Research
Institute Frankfurt, Sc.D. and political expert, while commenting on
Russian leader's remarks that "Nagorno-Karabakh conflict is one of
important issues."
"If any serious breakthrough is achieved in the Nagorno-Karabakh
peace process, this will increase his credibility both within the
country and West. Thus, Medvedev also raises his chances to become
next president. Any constructive contribution by Russia to peace
process strengthens its position in post-Soviet area," Babayev added.
