HAYKAKAN ZHAMANAK: ARMENIA'S POLICE CRIMINAL GANG?

The editorial particularly reads: "As he spoke of the ANC activists,
Chief of Armenia's police Alik Sargsyan said: 'I do not want to resort
to drastic measures.'
"No police chief in any civilized country would allow himself to such
a statement. If a chieftain would say so it could be understood. May
be Armenia's police feels it is a criminal gang.
"And why not? Was not it Mr. Sargsyan who, on seeing the pictures
of the policemen that attacked the ANC activists, said they were
'criminal-like' persons. But they turned out to be the policemen
working at the police department where the young ANC members had been
brutally beaten two days before. And the policemen are still working."
