According to candidate for "president" of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba
"ahead of the presidential election a number of political forces are
trying to play the Armenian card".
As Khajimba said the previous elections showed how the authorities
can use ethnic minorities in their political games. Representatives
of some candidates are openly frightening people in Armenian villages.
Through this they want to get the desired result in elections on August
26th. But, Khajimba said, they would fail. Leaders of the Armenian
minority should understand that calls to vote for one candidate can
cause conflict between different groups.
Khajimba also said that despite the fact that in the last elections
the vast majority of Armenians supported the current leadership,
the number of Armenian representatives in government has not increased.
"In fact, people were deceived. We should not repeat this mistake,
"- he added.
