SUKHUMI. - Abkhazians should follow the example of Karabakh people,
said former vice president of Abkhazia, current candidate for
presidency Raul Khadjimba to Nujnaya newspaper.
"I was in Karabakh a couple of years ago. I was pleasantly surprised.
Abkhazia could learn from Karabakh in many senses but I think the
most important thing they did was organization of armed forces. They
do it a way better than us," - said Khadjimba, stressing the desire
of Karabakh people to build their independent state. "They managed
to get rid of the traces of war in a short notice. The capital of
Karabakh, Stepanakert, which was destroyed to the ground during the
war, is fully restored. Another thing I liked is undisputable respect
to veterans. We ought to follow the example of Karabakh."
