Two Azerbaijani citizens arrested in Istanbul over Al-Qaeda ties

Two Azerbaijani and one Turkish citizen have been arrested in Istanbul
over alleged ties with terrorist organization Al-Qaeda, the
Azerbaijani news agency APA reported.
The Azerbaijani citizens are Islam Ganiyev and Fuzuli Maharramov.
None of them has accepted the accusations brought against them.
The police, having searched their flats, found written instructions
for preparing homemade explosives, CDs, DVDs and weapons.
Islam Ganiyev said he had moved to that flat three days before, and
that the confiscated pistol and computer did not belong to him.
Fuzuli Maharramov said he was engaged in business in Turkey, Iran,
China, Dubai, Georgia and Azerbaijan and had been living in Turkey for
two months.
He also said that the CDs and DVDs did not belong to him.
