YEREVAN. - Openly speaking in civil society is a risk, however, who
but an artist has to express his opinion, said American-Armenian rock
singer, lead singer of System of a Down Serj Tankian at a meeting
with Armenian journalists and NGO representatives.
Reflecting on the vital problems in Armenia, Tankian stressed
corruption as well as the fact that in Armenia "business and government
share one chair, while one of them has to come down". He emphasized
that each country has problems but "we must believe in ourselves,
we must speak and keep strong."
Due to his position, Tankian voices problems like social injustices,
recognition of Genocides, animal and nature protection.
