Representations of Azerbaijani community of Nagorno-Karabakh opens abroad

Work is underway to create representations of the Azerbaijani
community of Nagorno-Karabakh in foreign countries, Azerbaijani
Community of Nagorno-Karabakh Chairman and Shusha Region Executive
Power Head Bayram Safarov told Trend.
Safarov noted that considerable work has been done to bring the
realities of the Karabakh conflict to the world. He said the
Azerbaijani government pays special attention to this issue and work
in this direction gives a result.
"Our embassies and Diaspora organizations in foreign countries are
very active in this matter. We also continue our work aimed at
exposing Armenia's annexation policy at the international level," he
said.
The conflict between the two South Caucasus countries began in 1988
when Armenia made territorial claims against Azerbaijan. Armenian
armed forces have occupied 20 percent of Azerbaijan since 1992,
including the Nagorno-Karabakh region and 7 surrounding districts.
Azerbaijan and Armenia signed a ceasefire agreement in 1994. The
co-chairs of the OSCE Minsk Group - Russia, France, and the U.S. - are
currently holding the peace negotiations.
Armenia has not yet implemented the U.N. Security Council's four
resolutions on the liberation of the Nagorno-Karabakh and the
surrounding regions.
