The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry has launched an inquiry into French
lawmakers recent visit to Nagorno Karabakh and their meeting with
the country's president, Bako Sahayan.
"The Foreign Ministry is aware of the fact and are inquiring [into
the matter]," the Azerbaijani news agency Salamnews quoted a Foreign
Ministry official as saying.
It comes after Nagorno Karabakh President Bako Sahakyan received
four French legislators on Monday. Jacques Remiller, the head of
the Foreign Affairs Committee at the French parliament, had earlier
announced in capital Stepanakert that he had arrived in the country
to announce that the people in Karabakhy have their right to declare
their independence and be recognized by the world community.
