HRAPARAK: TRAFFIC POLICE CHIEF MAY RESIGN
Tert.am
23.08.11
While Chief of Armenia's traffic police Margar Ohanian is on holiday
abroad, the system is actively discussing his imminent resignation.
Mr. Ohanian, however, is refuting the rumors.
A few months ago his release might be accounted for by the possibility
of his appointment as Chief of Yerevan city Police Department. Now,
however, it is out of the question.
Some suggest the possibility of Ohanian being appointed Chief of
the Police Joint Staff, with a title of general to be conferred on
him. On the other hand, his positions are universally claimed to be
weak because of reforms in Armenia's traffic police.
Serious personnel changes in the traffic police system are expected
soon. According to some information, Norik Sargsyan, Chief of the
Highway Patrol Service, "has an eye" on the post.
