RUSSIAN PRESIDENT CONGRATULATES CATHOLICOS OF ALL ARMENIANS ON HIS 60TH ANNIVERSARY

Yerevan/Mediamax/. Russian President Dmitri Medvedev and Patriarch
Kirill of Moscow and All Russia congratulated the Catholicos of All
Armenians on his 60th anniversary.
Dmitri Medvedev noted in his message that Garegin the Second gives
special attention to the interchurch dialogue which "helps cement
the friendship and mutual understanding of our fraternal peoples",
Mediamax reports quoting Interfax.
"Your assistance to interfaith and interethnic peace in the Caucasus
as well is worthy of utmost respect", the Russian President's message
reads.
Patriarch Kirill stated in his congratulation message to Garegin the
Second that the Armenian Apostolic Church occupies a "prominent place
in the international Christian community and takes an active part in
the interreligious dialogue bearing witness to the rich and ancient
tradition having evolved over nearly 2 millennia".
