HOMENETMEN EAST COAST PANAGOUM (DAY FOUR)

Saturday Aug. 20 was the last full day at Camp Spencer. Throughout
the day, the scouts put final touches on their hand made towers and
bridges and finished practicing their skits and songs for the night's
kharougahantes (bonfire).

the arrival of parents, family, and friends at 6 p.m. The closing
ceremony began an hour later. The scouts dressed in full uniform
and the ceremony was led by Siran Krikorian from Providence. Here,
Untanoor Khempabed Hovsep Minassian and the East Coast Regional Scout
Leader Aline Baghdassarian delivered remarks and thanked those who
contributed to this event. Pokh Khempabed Raffi Rachdouni distributed
certificates to the scouts who came first at the rally-hike and those
who won the best craftsmanship competition.
Lastly, the Kayleegs and Ardzveegsreceived an assortment of merit
badges from Annie Dairbi. Other speakers included: Heghig Margosian
on behalf of the Eastern Regional Scout Committee, Hovsep Avakian on
behalf of Washington D.C.'s Gomideh, and Der Sarkis Aktavoutkian.
After the closing ceremony, the parents were invited to dinner with
the scouts, followed by the kharougahantes. The night turned out to
be a huge success.
On behalf of the scouts who attended Homenetmen's 25th Eastern Regional
Panagoum, I would like thank the Eastern USA Regional Executive and
Scout Committees along with Aram Kayserian and Aline Baghdassarian for
assisting us throughout the Panagoum. Also, a special thank you to the
panagoum's Khempabedagan Gazm, Hovsep Minassian, Raffi Rachdouni, Lori
Pilibosian for all their efforts to ensure a fun and safe panagoum.
On Sunday, the scouts said goodbye to each other and returned to their
homes looking forward to prepare for an even more fun and successful
panagoum next year.
