crossing of Abovyan and Koryun streets have sent an open letter to
Armenia's President Serzh Sargsyan, asking for help.
In the letter, the business owners inform the president that the
Yerevan Municipality has decided to sell the whole underground by an
auction, asking him to mediate so that the area will be directly sold
to them.
"If the Yerevan Municipality has decided to sell the underground
passage on the crossing of Abovyan-Koryun [streets] by an auction,
then it would be moral and logical, if it would be directly sold
to those business owners who have been working there for 25 years,"
read the letter.
"The aforementioned business owners have for several years now been
renovating, improving and preserving the underground passage mentioned,
though those problems were a direct duty of the municipal authorities,"
the letter read.
Further, they mentioned that those stalls are the only source of
income for their families, adding that if the president does not
