YEREVAN. - Russia refused to supply seeds of super elite wheat to
Armenia, or any other country, said Deputy Agriculture Minister
Sergo Karapetyan.
The government decided to increase the volume of elite wheat seeds
imported from Russia. Instead, orders have been reduced for local
seeds. A total of 1,500 tons of seeds will be imported from Russia
instead of the planned 850 tons. Purchase of local seeds decreased
from 900 tons to 100.
Ministry of Agriculture explained this by higher yields of Russian
seeds.
