ARMENIAN PRESIDENTIAL SPOKESMAN RESPONDS TO LRAGIR E-ZINE

Armenian Presidential Spokesman Armen Arzumanyan responded to an
article posted by the Lragir e-zine.
The response particularly reads:
"Dear Mr. Badalyan,
"Your article entitled 'Why They Recalled Kocharyan' contained
misinformation.
"The article particularly reads that 'Turkey proposed consideration
of the genocide by the commission of historians and Kocharyan refused.
Instead, the Armenian side proposed discussion of any issue at an
intergovernmental level.'
"'An intergovernmental commission can meet to discuss any and all
outstanding issues between our two nations, with the aim of resolving
them and coming to an understanding,' Kocharyan wrote to Erdogan.'
"Further, the article deals with the developments related to the
Armenian-Turkish protocols, and reads: 'The point is that these
protocols note the subcommittee of historians. In other words, what
Robert Kocharyan had refused was accepted by Serzh Sargsyan'."
Armen Arzumanyan stressed that the above was actually misinformation.
"Even without considering the hundreds of statements and relevant
explanations, you youself, from an article analyzed by you, can make
sure that your inferences have nothing to do with the facts. That
article particularly reads that 'Sargsyan dwelt on the joint
Armenia-Turkey statement ... (noting)...'
"'The Genocide-related issues will not be discussed by historians, but
within one of the subcommittees of the intergovernmental committee.'
"I would like to draw your attention to the following phrase: 'The
Genocide-related issues cannot be discussed by historians nor even by
the intergovernmental committee, much less at a lower level, within
one of the subcommittees. This is what President Serzh Sargsyan has
repeatedly stated.'
"Dear Mr. Badalyan,
"I expect you to repudiate this misinformation and ask you to correct
the error contained in your article."
