Lower Number of Pupils in Shirak

The Crisis has entered schools. There number of first graders is low
in almost all schools of the region of Shirak. Deadline of
applications is August 31.
Earlier, there were usually 4-6 classes of first graders but directors
of schools say the number of first-graders drops every year.
According to the data of the Statistics Service, in the academic year
2005-06 the schools of the region of Shirak admitted 3600 first
graders, now it is 3000. Directors say the dropping number is
determined by hard social and economic situation causing most families
to leave the country.
