In the Australian The Punch paper an article by Australian Armenian
Sassoon Grigoryan was published in which he calls Israel to recognize
the Armenian Genocide.
In his article Grigorian stresses that it is time for Israel to
recognize the Armenian Genocide - one of the history's darkest pages.
"The strategic relations between Turkey and Israel still make it
difficult to achieve progress in that issue," Grigorian writes.
He also stressed that Israeli politicians and scientists have spoken
for the recognition of the Armenian Genocide several times.
The author mentions the words of famous Israeli scientist-historian,
expert on the Holocaust and Genocide Yair Auron:
"Everyone will agree that Israel does not have the right to bargain
with the Holocaust. And moreover it does not have the right to bargain
with the memory of others' victims. But that is what Israel does with
the Armenian Genocide. Israel contributes to denying of the Armenian
Genocide and thus bargains with the Holocaust and its memory."
