PanARMENIAN.Net - Chemical castration against sex offenders is not
very effective, according to sexologist Vrezh Shahramanyan.
As Mr. Shahramanyan told a press conference, the method may cause
increased aggressiveness along with sex drive reduction.
`Chemical castration may result in a number of health problems,' the
expert said calling for psychotherapy as a solution.
For her part, Karine Khodikyan noted that society should condemn such
people by isolating them.
A resolution envisaging compulsory treatment or voluntary chemical
castration for pedophiles was adopted at December 1 Armenian
government sitting.
