CIS foreign ministries hold consultations in Yerevan
YEREVAN December 3
The CIS foreign ministries held two days of consultations in Armenia's
capital Yerevan on Thursday and Friday to consider cooperation by the
member-countries "in various formats and along different lines." The
consultations were held under a plan for contacts among the CIS
foreign ministries this year, Armenia's Foreign Ministry said on
Friday. Russia was represented by the director of the CIS countries
department, Mikhail Yevdokimov.
The diplomats focused on ways of enhancing food security, on the
transit of cargoes and energy, on labor migration and on the social
protection of migrant workers.
A draft plan was approved for inter-foreign ministry consultations
next year. The participants in the meeting asked the CIS Executive to
present the document for approval by the CIS Foreign Ministers'
Council.
