ARMENIA TO DISCUSS CHECKPOINT MODERNIZATION INVESTMENT PROGRAM

PanARMENIAN.Net - From December 12-15, Armenia will host a
delegation of European Investment Bank, with its representatives to
discuss financing of modernization program of three checkpoints at
Armenia-Georgia border: Bagratashen, Gogavan and Bavra.
As Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan told at December 8
governmental sitting, the investment issue will also be mulled with
representatives of the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
(EBRD) to initiative construction works in the first quarter of 2012.
Today, December 8, RA government decided on changing land category
and recognizing the social importance of rural communities, citizens
and ownership of legal entities in Bagratashen, Gogavan and Bavra.
Coming 2 years envisage investment of about Euro 42 mln to bring the
three checkpoints in line with European standards.
