    ARMENIAN CONSUL DISCUSSES EDUCATION ISSUES IN ADJARA

    Armenia's General Consul to Georgian Autonomous Republic of Adjara,
    Garik Israelyan, has met with the country's Minister of Education,
    Culture and Sports Gia Abuladze and discussed the teaching of the
    Armenian language in Armenian schools there.

    Israelyan stressed the need for essential improvement of the level
    of teaching of the Armenian language, literature, history among
    the Ajarian-Armenians, as well as organizing additional lessons
    of Armenian.

    The sides also agreed to hold joint discussions with the local
    organizations over the issue in the near future.

    They also discussed issues related to the existing opportunities to
    develop cooperation between the two countries.

    Gia Abuladze expressed willingness to assist with the organization
    of festive events dedicated to the Armenian days in Batumi, as well
    as concerts, exhibitions and other festive events.

    On the same day Garik Israelyan held a meeting with Georgi Papuashvili,
    President of the Georgian Constitutional Court (residency in Batumi).
