The paper claims that Vazgen Khachikyan, former chief of social
security service, was seen by one of its reporter as entering the
police station on Nalbandyan Street on Friday.
The paper assumes that Khachikyan was in all probability interrogated
over an embezzlement case in the social security service.
Further, the paper says Khachikyan could not be contacted for
clarifications.
According to the paper, Ashot Aharonyan, the head of police press
service, neither denied, nor confirmed the version of interrogation,
adding that "several people have been summoned and interrogated within
this case".
"For the interests of the investigation, it is inexpedient now to
publicize data on those people," Aharonyan was quoted by the paper
as saying.
