HAYKAKAN ZHAMANAK: UAR CHAIRMAN TO BE ABSENT FROM TRADITIONAL FUND-RAISING DINNER

Chairman of the World Armenian Congress (WAC) and of the Union of
Armenians of Russia (UAR) Ara Abrahamyan was absent from Moscow on
Dec. 4, Russia parliamentary elections day.
Mr. Abrahamyan had left for the United States for a couple of weeks.
Mr. Abrahamyan's aide named Sofia did not refute the information at
the newspaper's disposal.
She did not comment on reports that Mr. Abrahamyan has some problems
in Moscow, which made him go to the US.
Ms. Sofia said that Mr. Abrahamyan would come back to Moscow after
the New Year celebrations.
So Mr. Abrahamyan will be absent from Moscow on Dec. 21, the day the
Hayastan All Armenian Fund holds a traditional fund-raising dinner,
when Russia-based Armenian businessmen make donations to the Fund.
