AZNAVOUR'S "GENOCIDE"

Charles Aznavour held a concert in Moscow and confessed to
reporters after it that in his country, Armenia, internal genocide is
committed. "The authorities of Armenia don't let the country breathe
and deprive it of the youth, which leaves the country. This is not a
political problem but a human one. This problem should be immediately
solved", writes Life Showbiz referring to the chansonnier.
When recently Charles Aznavour, who is also Armenia's Ambassador
to Switzerland and UNESCO, criticized the Armenian authorities on
Nouvelles d'Armenie, many thought that he will either resign or the
authorities will enlist him as "enemy". But none of these versions
happened. The situation is strange when the ambassador avoids visiting
his country and accuses his government of committing genocide against
the people.
It is comprehensible that the Armenian authorities need Aznavour as
a brand, and refusing him would be like death. So, Serzh Sargsyan
will go on smiling to Aznavour pretending that journalists are to
blame for everything, and in the close environment, they would say
"what can you take from an old man". At that age, they say, you can
afford fatherly criticism.
It is unlikely that Aznavour counted on such "sons' " reaction. He
thought that Armenia is similar to France, where the presidents are
judged, where each word requires a public response and explanation,
the society would require the president's resignation, if it turns
out that he carries out "internal genocide". But this is Armenia,
and here society does not solve anything.
And Aznavour continues to serve Armenia, ignoring its power.
It is also interesting that Aznavour's concert was organized
in Moscow by Samvel Karapetyan - Tashir Samo, whose brother has
recently been dismissed from his post as head of Serzh Sargsyan's
administration. Will Samvel Karapetyan participate in the charity
reception scheduled on December 21 in Moscow,as we have learnt even
Ara Abrahamyan will not be there?
