TURKEY ALARMED WITH THE DISCUSSION OF BILL ON ARMENIAN GENOCIDE AT FRENCH SENATE

The new bill on penalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide will
be discussed at the French Senate on December 19. The bill envisages
one year of imprisonment and 45 thousand euros' fine in case of denial
of the Armenian Genocide in the territory of France.
French Nor Haratch newspaper writes that this time as well Turkey
confronts: the Foreign Affairs Ministry of Turkey has sent a written
statement to France urging not to make irreversible mistake by
ratifying the bill penalizing the denial of the Armenian Genocide.
On December 7 the Committee of Laws of the French Senate unanimously
adopted the bill presented by the UMP party and its advocates
October 21.
