SARGSYAN INVITES ITALIAN COMPANIES TO PARTICIPATE IN CONSTRUCTION OF ARMENIAN NPP

YEREVAN, December 14. /ARKA/. President Serzh Sargsyan invited Italian
companies to participate in the implementation of various projects
in Armenia, including the construction of a new unit for Armenian
nuclear power plant during a meeting with Italy's president Giorgio
Napolitano, Sargsyan's press office reported Tuesday.
It said the two men expressed conviction that Sargsyan's working
visit to Italy was a good opportunity to discuss Armenian-Italian
relations at high level, as well as to identify new and promising
areas of cooperation.
In terms of economic relations the two leaders stressed the importance
of frequent contacts of their entrepreneurs, as well as conduction of
business forums that had already been agreed in the morning meeting
of foreign ministers of both countries.
Napolitano said he hoped that Sargsyan's meeting with Italian business
people will be an additional incentive to attract Italian investments
into Armenian economy, as well as to promote economic cooperation
between the two countries.
Sargsyan and Napolitano also discussed cooperation between Armenia
and the EU, regional issues, including negotiations to settle the
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
