ARMENIAN EXPERT ON COMING ELECTIONS

An Armenia-based expert in public administration, Harutyun Serobyan,
is sure that the coming elections will prove "quite the opposite"
to what is being hyped up.
To substantiate his claims the expert refers to the government's
policy. "They claim they are pursuing a socially-oriented policy,
whereas the population's poverty level exceeds 35%. The arguments
about a transition and blockade are not at all convincing," Serobyan
told journalists Dec. 14.
Referring to international practice, a transition lasts for ten, not
20, years. "As regards the blockade, how is it possible for Armenia
to import four times as much as it exports?' he asked.
