AZERI, TURKISH FMS DISCUSS ARMENIAN GENOCIDE BILL

The Azeri and Turkish FMs, Elmar Mammadyarov and Ahmed Davutoglu,
had a telephone conversation and discussed ways of settling the
Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
Referring to HaberTurk, the Trend news agency reports that the two
also discussed France's position on the Armenian Genocide in the
context of French MPs' recent initiative.
Members of the Union for a Popular Movement (French: Union pour
un Mouvement Populaire, UMP), led by President Nicolas Sarkozy,
submitted a bill penalizing denial of the Armenian Genocide to the
Commission of the Laws of the French National Assembly.
The bill envisages up to one years' imprisonment and a ~@45,000 fine
for denying the Armenian Genocide.
