Nareg Hartunyan's arrest was allegedly related to fraud committed by
the former co-director of the company Sevak Artsruni. In July of this
year, the Hetq Newspaper reported that "the founder of the company,
Garabed Hartunyan learnt about damage caused by JH Storage Enterprise
Company only when his son Nareg Hartunyan became the director. The
latter revealed embezzlement in the company".
>From 1 October 2008 to 11 September 2010 Artem Martirosyan has been
the director of JH Storage Enterprise and Sevak Artsruni was the CEO.
Nareg found out that Sevak Artsruni concluded a number of deals on
behalf of the company. On 01.12.2009, for instance, Artsruni signed an
agreement on behalf of the company with the police units on ensuring
his security. It is difficult to guess why Sevak Artsruni needed 5
bodyguards. This service costs AMD 1 million per month.
Apparently, Sevak wanted to hide from his numerous "foes". These are
not the enemies of the Armenian people, but state bodies.
It is interesting that when you search his name on the web, you
find only negative information. For instance, right after the war in
Artsakh, Yerkir union Artsruni is a member of started building houses
in Hadrut region of Karabakh which were never built up. Then Artsruni
was almost sued but the process was hushed.
Then Artsruni was appointed the Head of the Martakert regional
administration but in a couple of months multiple cases of fraud were
revealed, and he was sacked, and criminal proceedings were launched
against him. This case was again hushed and Artsruni's fraud did not
become public.
Then, he contacted Hartunyan's family who were going to invest great
means in Karabakh. The fact that Hartunyans appointed Artsruni director
of their company caused mistrust in Karabakh. Later, this mistrust was
justified because it was revealed that the village that was built in
Karvachar on Hartunyan's means was built on poor soil, and Artsruni
did not even try to get a geological survey for the construction of
the village.
There was a period when Artsruni was banned from entering Karabakh.
Now, he deals with Javakheti issues.
